Drowning World
“Drowning World” is an exploration of flooding using photography and video. “Since 2007, I have made 19 trips to document floods in 13 countries, witnessing a shared human experience of catastrophe that transcends geographical, cultural and economic divides. The vision of “Drowning World” has been to give a rvisceral sense of humans living it.
Gideon Mendel’s (Johannesburg, South Africa, 1959) work has been widely published in prominent publications such as National Geographic, Geo and The Guardian Weekend magazine.
